The 31th of May marks the beginning of Spring and the welcoming of the onset of summer. It also sees the beginning of the European Tourist season. Many people will therefore be in evidence in or around Trafalgar Square.
Trafalgar Square is one of the favourite destinations for central London tourists and is within walking distance of Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Downing Street – official residence of British Prime Minister David Cameron.
In addition numerous annual culture events are held in Trafalgar Square such as Chinese New Year, St Patricks day, the Light Festival and the annual New Years celebrations.
Aim and Purpose
The Hello Indonesia exhibition to be held in Trafalgar Square will promoteIndonesian culture with traditional dance, music, handicrafts and Indonesian garment design batik and tenun ikat. Foremost Indonesian cuisine will be available throughout the day.
The event aims to promote Indonesian culture and regional traditional crafts to the people of Great Britain and Europe. The Hello Indonesia event will be held on 31th May 2014 running from 11.00 till 18.00 BST. A 10m x 15m stage will be built to be used for performing music and dance.
